In light of recent decisions by the governing body (Synod 2024) within the Christian Reformed Church of North America, both Aaron and Matt have begun the process of disaffiliation from the denomination. This process will likely take about six to twelve months with the hope that both of them will be honorably released and able to go to a different denomination. It is not clear as of October 2024 what that new denomination will be, but we are actively looking at options.
At Mosaic, the decisions of Synod not only affect our community, but we are also home to five ministers who have been ordained by the CRCNA. Aaron, Matt, Allen & Lynn Likkel, and Ken Boonstra. All of us have been in conversation about what to do for the past 24 months, and have finally had to make decisions to leave the CRCNA.
