Mosaic is unique in many ways, but there are a couple things that many people ask about. First, we are smaller by design, not by accident. It is not our intention to limit growth, we are just more concerned about the type of growth. We want to grow deep in our relationship with Jesus, with each other and with our city. We think the best way to do that is by planting in various neighborhoods rather than by growing one large meeting. Second, our staff is intentionally part-time. We think one of the hindrances to rapid expansion and a reproducible model, is the need to pay full-time wages to pastoral staff. In most countries, this is simply not possible, but here, in the USA, it is not only possible, it is expected!

That doesn't mean that we aren't human or have no problems, it just means that we deal with those normal things without all the drama, and boy are we thankful! Matt loves his role and the community of people that make up our unique little mosaic.
In addition to working with Mosaic, Matt is the Senior Financial Advisor with a private capital management company in Bellingham. Matt and his wife, Laura enjoy spending time with their family, serving their community, taking vacations to warm places, and working on their yard and garden.
