Trust, Not Certainty

Somewhere over the past few hundred years since the Enlightenment, Christianity became aligned with certainty and facts. The more certain you were about the facts of Jesus, the more solid your faith. 

We taught/took apologetics classes, we studied to show ourselves approved, and we memorized Bible verses.

The more we did, the more certain we became about the "truth". 

But, is certainty the same as faith? Does Jesus call us to be certain?
