Heaven on Earth

I just arrived home from a memorial service for a wonderful woman. She was truly one of the "good ones". The service was rather typical, FILLED with lots of references to her being with Jesus and how important that was for her and for her family.

If I am being honest, constant references about heaven and her being the one who "got to go home" tend to bother me. Not because I don't believe that, but because in so many cases it can take the focus off of how the person lived. I guess for some people that is probably a good thing, but not for this one. This woman GOT IT! Or maybe it would be more honoring of her (and Jesus) to say, "This woman got, GOT!"

She was captured by Jesus and it showed. It showed up everywhere in her life and therefore, it showed up in her death and memorial too. She wasn't fixated on life in heaven, she was fixated on living heaven on earth.

You might be wondering what this has to do with the book of Acts and the Holy Spirit. I get it. I can get reflective. But this, this is actually central.
