The State of Our Denomination

Oct 13, 2024    Aaron Walters

Uncertainty. We all face it, and I do not know anyone who likes it. It certainly affects how we interact with others and groups. It certainly is a factor in economics, presidential campaigns, and our status within our denomination.

This week we are taking a brief pause from our series on “Jesus and Power,” to offer an update on the current state of our denomination, the Christian Reformed Church. Much of the update has to do with the decisions made on the issue of human sexuality, and the enforcement of those decisions. I will offer some context and history of our denomination, the decisions made, and what it may mean for Mosaic. I anticipate this being the first of a few conversations. After this Sunday’s message, I will send out an email containing the points made on Sunday, so that you can take time with the material. Then after the worship service on October 27th, you will have an opportunity to share questions and thoughts. As always, you are welcome to reach out individually to me or the staff. I hope to see you on Sunday!
