Autonomy or Love

Does God command a thing because it is good, or is it good because God commands it? Maybe this feels like a "chicken or the egg" question, and maybe it is. But this question gets after how we perceive God. Is He primarily known for His own autonomy, doing what He wishes because He is God? Or is He primarily known and governed by His love? Does one drive the other? And where does all this leave us? I'm looking forward to investigating these questions and related thoughts this Sunday. See you then. ~Aaron
