Esther

This Sunday I need your help. I've got a problem. I've been pondering the Old Testament book and person of Esther. On one hand, she is an incredible example of faith, risking her position of privilege to save her oppressed people. On the other hand, she later uses her power to eliminate her people's enemies.

Like so many of us, I desire to know what is right and wrong, and how to live into the mercy and forgiveness of God. But what are we to make of Esther? Is she a good guy or a bad guy? Did she use her power properly? Is she an example of faithfulness or fury? How do we resolve the apparent disconnect we see in Esther? We are going to consider some of these thoughts on Sunday.
