Jesus Versus the Power of Darkness

In Luke 4, we read how Jesus was drawn into the desert and tempted. Jesus said "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." So how would one go about tempting the One who has everything? How does this speak to what we face and are challenged with? And, how does this help us have compassion for those around us?
